I was rewatching Initial D episodes and saw a commenter point out this DeLorean from Episode 2 of Second Stage . Initial D and Wangan Midnight do feature Chevy Astro vans in traffic, and Wangan Midnight briefly mentions the first-gen Dodge Challenger R/T, but I was still surprised to see this.

Dodge Challenger R/T????? Where did you see that?? I watched all the episodes and read all the english translated mangas of Wangan Midnight! Plz respond.

Sorry I didn't see your post until now.

I'm pretty sure that during one of the Drive Go Go! segments in the anime, Kijima and Reina are discussing her GT-R. Kijima, in keeping with his fondness for foreign cars, suggests to look into replacing the GT-R with a Dodge Challenger; Reina responds that it might be a bit too flashy.

So the Challenger doesn't make an actual appearance, but it is mentioned AFAIK. I'm trying to find the specific segment - I think it happens sometime around when Kijima backs out of a race with another street racer when he's driving his Merc, as I'm not finding anything in Episodes 24-26.

Im convinced that the fastest car on the Wangan is a green Chevy Astro, since it seems to show up in EVERY. DANG. SCENE. (Well, a lot of them anyways.)
